Center for Women in Transition: Reach for the Stars
The Center for Women in Transition is a non-profit in West Michigan with a mission to respond to, reduce, and prevent domestic and sexual violence against women. As the event's marketing chair, I developed the theme and designed the announcement and promotional materials for their annual fundraiser: Reach for the Stars.
This year's theme was based on the Greek myth of Andromeda, one of the most prominent constellations in the northern hemisphere. According to the myth, Andromeda, also known as “the Chained Lady,” was destined to stay chained to a rock by the sea for eternity before being rescued and living out her days happily married with nine children. This played into the mission of CWIT to respond to, reduce, and prevent domestic and sexual violence against women.
The 2-color invitation, RSVP, and program incorporated an illustration of the starry night sky with the Andromeda constellation helping to move the audience’s eye through each of the materials.
